Helping veterans rediscover the strength of the unit. We aren't just teaching chords; we’re rebuilding the connection and shared purpose that many lose after the military. Your skills can provide the rhythm a veteran needs to get back in sync with their community.
Music4Vets is expanding, and we are looking for skilled musicians to help lead our "unit" to the next level. If you have the heart to serve those who served, let's see if we can find a spot for you in our 10-week curriculum cycles. Must be willing to go at veteran's pace and adapt to their needs. That may mean taking it slower, repeating lessons or developing other ways to help them play.
Full-Cycle Instructors: Lead a 10-week guitar course focusing on chord training and technique. Instructors try to work out a time and day that works for both them and the student.
Guest Sessions: Not ready for 10 weeks? We welcome "one-song" instructors. Stop in to help with a single session with a instructor onsite to share your version of a song or a specific technique.
Digital Contributors: Share a video of you playing guitar maybe breaking down the strum pattern or cords for our Private Facebook Group to help our veterans practice between sessions.
We are seeking individuals with drumming skills to lead 10-week rhythm classes using the lap cajon.
The Goal: Teach basic to intermediate rhythmic patterns to provide an accessible percussion experience for our veterans.
Commitment: One 10-week cycle (one session per week).
Location: Volunteers needed for both our Menominee (CVSO Office) and Shawano (VFW) chapters. This will probably be held in a local park due to the loud character of the cajon, unless we find a fitting public location.
Any help—no matter how small—is appreciated and directly impacts the lives of our regional veterans. To discuss volunteering, please contact the Regional Coordinator: Phone: 715-383-6227
